In the health area too, the media have a strong influence on peoples knowledge, attitudes and practicers.However while news about health issues should be of interest to everyone, we must remember that journalism has its own needs and parameters. The reader should keep in mind the fact that journalist look for interesting stories, stories that make headlines, that convey the different and the usual. But this might not coincide with the ingredients of sound public policy, or be in accordance with the actual substance of health issues. The health sectors and social care units have information to impart to the society, information which is important and relevant to the health of the population. But government spokespersons that interact with the media are at a disadvantage. If the spokesperson gives good news, most of the time it is disbelieved by the people. Thus the communication with the media has to be accurate and clear. So the spokesperson should be a trained person, rather than a novice who cannot handle the media. The fact is that both sides need each other. The health ministry needs the journalist to spread the news, which is often very vital to the public. The most important factor here is that both parties; the health ministry and the journalist, have to be professional, and the most important two factors are that their relationship are trust and transparent. These sometimes appear contradictory and confusing. For example, some health messages emphasis the risk and danger associated with sexual activities and media coverage promotes the idea that being sexually active makes a person more attractive and matire.Beause sex and sexuality are very sensitive subjects, young people and sex educators can have strong views on what attitudes people should hold, and what moral frame work should govern peoples behavior- these too can sometimes be at odds. Thus young people get information about sex and sexuality from a wide range of sources including each other, through the media including advertising, television and magazines, as well as leaflets, books and web sites which are intended to be a source of information. It is important to provide information which correct mistaken beliefs. With out correct information young people can put themselves at greater risks. When taking the above scenario into consideration, this involves peoples thoughts, feelings and behaviors which are influenced by the actual, imagined or implied presence of others. At this point the media plays a major role. It is a must to keep in mind that people are prone to social influence even when no other person is present, in such case watching television or reading effects. Thus along with this goes the norms of social rules that specify appropriate and inappropriate behavior in a given situation. So thus these contribute a lot and play a major effect in health and social care. They dont believe in the benefits of these units. When people are unable to solve or eradicate or minimize the spreading of an epidemic it reflects globally. Thus causing a major damage to health, physical, economic and international aspects. Thus then the revenues of NGOS,a countries economy and WHO have to spend a vast amount on eradicating these sickness when it could have been able to be plucked from grass root level. So in order to eradicate and make the nations free and bring good health practice each and every soul should and must contribute towards this factor. The best example that I can quote from the reason past is dengue which is a high risk health issue. But the people still have not recognized the individual responsibility towards the spreading of it. They bestow the blame on health organizations and thus each year the death toll increases. The saddest part in this is many young lives victims of this. We have to concentrate on the fact that the national and world productivity decreases very badly when disease start to spread. So the social responsibility too should pay a vast role in this factor. As there are many health definitions, there are multiple definitions of health education. Thus the joint committee of health education and promotion terminology of 2001 defined health education as nay combination of planned education based on sound theories that provides individuals ,groups and communities the opportunity to acquire information and skills needed to make quality health care and social care. Conclusion In conclusion this is an over view and an insight to global health issues and how media can reflect or take it in to the masses. Thus the responsibility of the masses too is important in this issue. Each and every one should be responsible plus the attitudes count a lot. Oedipus, the Cursed Man      Ã‚  Ã‚   Have you ever had one of those days when it seems that everything is against you, that life could not look any bleaker than it does right now? We have all had moments like those, but nothing can compare to the feeling Oedipus had on that dreadful day when he found out that he was cursed by the gods, destined to kill his father and marry his mother. This tragic story of the cursed man is told in Sophocles' play, Oedipus the King. This essay will examine one of Oedipus' speeches, found in lines 1183 - 1194, made before he learns of his appalling fate. It is a passage full of dramatic irony. We, the audience, know the truth. Even Jocasta has just come to realize the facts, but Oedipus is still unaware of the impending doom.    Let it burst! Whatever will, whatever must! I must know my birth, no matter how common it may be-I must see my origins face-to-face. She perhaps, she with her woman's pride may well be mortified by my birth, but I, I count myself the son of Chance, the great goddess, giver of all good things- I'll never see myself disgraced. She is my mother! And the moons have marked me out, my blood brothers, one moon on the wane, the next moon great with power. That is my blood, my nature-I will never betray it, never fail to search and learn my birth! (Oedipus lines 1183-1194)    The passage begins with Oedipus crying, "Let it burst! Whatever will, whatever must! / I must know my birth, no matter how common / it may be-I must see my origins face-to-face" (lines 1183 - 1185). He is eager to know his past, no matter how ugly it may be. He believes the truth can be no worse than learning that he comes from a humbl... ...ldren and siblings. Again, the audience knows the truth and wishes the opposite of what Oedipus persevered to discover. The reader wishes that he would indeed give up the search to find his true origins. It will only result in ending his life in horrific misery.    This short yet heartfelt speech made by Oedipus before he learns of his fate is packed with dramatic irony. He is blinded to the truth, but the readers are entirely aware of his dreadful fame. This makes the speech all the more painful and wrenching for the audience. Mary Shelley demonstrates how dangerous it is to pursue knowledge through Victor's health with his growing obsession with his scientific goals, the death of his younger brother William due to his neglect of his own creation, and finally his loss of rationality and mental stability when the creature retaliates against its maker. As a young child Frankincense had an uncommon craving for knowledge. As an adolescent Victor was more intense than most and could apply himself more acutely. Reading outdated books as child victor became interested in the fields of natural philosophy and chemistry.Becoming an above average tuned Victor pursued higher education at a university level. This curiosity lead him to his research to discover the hidden laws of nature. Laws of nature that no human was ever meant to know. Spending multiple years dedicated to this discovery, abandoning his moral code victor tries to play God by trying to create life where there is none. The potential rewards of this atte mpt causes Victor to miss all caution when considering the consequences of his actions, which allows the experiment to progress till completion.It is only after completion that victor realizes the dangers of knowing too much, not legalizing the dangers of this knowledge Victor ignores not only his personal wellbeing but his loved ones as well. Spending many years in seclusion, Victor ignores his person health and falls into a state of illness. Because of his growing obsession victor further disregards his health and almost dies. Victor fails to realize is that the knowledge that he has pursued almost killed him, and will continue to hinder him to live a peaceful and happy life.In a condition of illness and isolation victor discovers Cleaver his boyhood friend has come to visit him in his time of weakness. With the presence of Henry victors spirits arise to levels of normality, although for a time which is yet to be determined. Unprepared for the consequences of his creation victor r ealizes his worst fears. On receiving a letter from his father telling him that Victor's youngest brother, William, has been murdered. Victor travels back to Geneva to find that is was his creation that murders his brother.Victor realizes that it was he who responsible for the death of his younger brother. Later in the novel victor sees that it was his neglect for the power hat he held and the power in which he wanted to obtain were the reasoning for his catastrophes. â€Å"By my example, how dangerous is the acquirement of knowledge and how much happier the man is who believes his native town is the world, than he who aspires to become greater his nature will allow. † Cheap.This quote is when victor is telling his story to Walton, telling him the dangers of obtaining knowledge. Recovering from his sickness Victor's mental state is disarray having nothing left to live for he is determined to take life from that in which he gave and eventually dads to his own death. Victors near death experience is in direct relation to his lack of understanding of dangerous knowledge.The entirety of his adult life Victors life was dictated by his disregard for the acquirement of dangerous knowledge and lead to the death of everyone close to him and eventually his passing Frankincense, is a warning about the dangers of knowledge and the consequences that result because of the reckless pursuit of information. The novel shows that sometimes actions do not get the chosen outcome. As was the case with Dry. Frankincense. Victor becomes obsessed in his pursuit to gain knowledge and create life.
